The Calyber 12 Lil' Buddy is a 12-foot Carolina-style boat built the way we build the big ones: hand-laid fiberglass, a molded Carolina flare, and the kind of fit and finish you'd expect on a sportfisherman three times its length.

At 1300 pounds with an 8-inch draft, it gets into water most boats can't — over the shoals, back in the creeks, up on a sandbar for the afternoon. The standard 30 HP Suzuki four-stroke with hydraulic steering makes it easy enough for anyone in the family to run, and it tows behind just about anything.

Owners run them as yacht tenders, as a first boat for the kids, and as a two-person sunset cruiser. Available in five gel coat colors, with painted faux teak trim, a Fusion stereo package, and gunwale rod holders if you plan to fish it.
